Hello!

Thank you so much for booking a holiday at Tigh a' Mhaide. We are delighted you will be staying here and feel sure you will find much to enjoy in our beautiful surroundings. Our virtual information folder contrains all the crucial things you need to know about staying at Tigh a' Mhaide. You should find everything you need by clicking on the links below and there will be a hard copy of the folder in the house when you arrive so there's no need to print anything out.

Check in is between 4pm and 10pm on the day your booking starts. We will usually greet you in person when you arrive in case you have any immediate questions and we are just next door if you need help at any point during your stay. You will find our phone number and email address in the information folder, but please just knock on our door if you prefer.

 

How to get here

We recommend you use these directions because Satnavs are rather unreliable around here.

Grocery shopping and delivery

Both Callander and Aberfoyle, each about 15 minutes away, have small supermarkets. Larger supermarkets are available in Dunblane (Tesco and M&S Food) and Stirling (Aldi, Lidl, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Waitrose and M&S Food). ASDA, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Tesco and Waitrose all deliver to the village. The address to give is:

If you have an option to give additional instructions for the driver, tell them to stay on the main road (the A821) through the village and NOT to follow the SatNav directions for the postcode as that will take them up the glen. They should look for the white sign with the house name on it on the main road.

Public transport

Buses to Stirling leave from the stop by the Post Office in Callander. Buses for Glasgow leave from the Tourist Information Centre in Aberfoyle and from the Bus Station in Stirling. For times and routes, please check the public transport options on Google Maps here or the timetables for the Stirling area here
 
The nearest train stations are at Stirling (23 miles, 40 minutes drive) or Dunblane (19 miles, 35 minutes drive). Stirling is a mainline station while Dunblane is a local station. Details of routes, services and fares are available on the ScotRail website here.
 
Loch Lomond water buses
 
From Inversnaid, you can catch a water bus across Loch Lomond to Tarbet from where you can travel on by water bus to Luss, Inchcailloch and Balmaha. Details of services, timetables and fares are on the National Park's website here.
